For actors:
When a director look at an actors profile, it is because he or she is looking for someone to play a particular role. In terms if envisaging an artist in a particular role, directors generally prefer to play safe. Unless they can see the character they want for their production within the pictures they are looking at, they are unlikely to book. To this end I suggest you bring a number of distinctly different outfits to assist you to vary you character portrayals.
With a little adaptation for the medium of still photography, your ability as a communicator can be captured. I once worked with an elderly actor who had been treading the boards for many years. She was nervous about having her picture taken and explained that she was fine when she had some lines. After a few minutes she began to understand how to use the medium, relax and enjoy herself. She said “I get it. Its like acting in a box.”
For performers, models, extras, business people, professionals, debutantes, politicians and other members of the public:
Please interpret the above under the heading ‘For actors’. “All the world’s a stage. And all the men and women merely players”
